Howard’s practice concentrates on the prosecution of U.S. and foreign patent applications and counseling clients regarding patent portfolios and strategies. Representative Clients include small to medium sized pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies and university technology offices, primarily involving biological technologies in the human, animal, and plant related technologies.

Howard’s primary area of concentration is medicine, biology, and the life sciences, with emphasis on technologies related to medicine and physiology. Specific areas of concentration include pharmaceutical formulations, medical therapeutics and diagnostics, animal-related agriculture, proteins, recombinant DNA technology, immunology, vaccines, and monoclonal antibodies. Howard is also experienced in chemical applications, agriculture, medical devices, and industrial processes and compositions.
